Border Patrol foils dive -scooter coastal invasion by illegal aliens

Border Patrol agents nabbed a pair of Mexican nationals trying to enter the U.S. illegally using a jet-propelled dive scooters. The two were apprehended in Imperial Beach, Calif. and processed for illegally entering the country.

The agents arrested two male Mexican nationals after they illegally landed on U.S. shores. The dive scooters used by the illegal aliens are self-propelled underwater devices that are often used by deep-sea divers.

The daring nighttime invasion was discovered by crew of a Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine aircraft who spotted two suspicious subjects in wetsuits who were carrying the dive scooters.

The Hispanic males proceeded to walk north on the beach when Border Patrol agents responded to the scene and found the two individuals attempting to hide in the sand.

Agents questioned both males, a 38-year-old and a 16-year-old, and placed them under arrest after determining they were the Mexican nationals who had used the dive scooters to unlawfully enter the country.

Border Patrol transported the criminals to a local processing station.

The Maritime Unified Command, who spotted the wayward travelers, utilizes the fusion of intelligence, planning and operations to target the threat of transnational crime along the coastal border and works with agents on the ground to protect all of America’s borders.
